On September 6, I decided I really wanted a doctor to check Lilly out and give her a clean bill of health. Chloe and I headed to the SOS clinic which is about three blocks from our hotel, and Adam headed to the passport office. I highly recommend our hotel (Somerset/Hanoi Towers) because it is equipped with a kitchen and washer/dryer which is so terrific to have with a little one (or in my case two little ones). On top of that, it has a playground and playroom (great for toddlers), a baby pool, and most importantly it is so close to the SOS clinic which is ideal if your baby gets sick. You have to go to the SOS clinic after your first embassy appointment, but we took Lilly right away (knowing we would have to go back). I had them check to make sure she didn't have an ear infection or anything else. The doctor said she was fine, and of course he smiled at her because she is so adorable. Eli came with Chloe, Lilly, and me to the clinic.

Adam faired well at the passport office. Shockingly, the passport office was air conditioned. Make sure both parents sign the I-600 before any one parent goes to the passport office. There is no need for both parents or the baby to go to the passport office. You may want to bring one extra signed copy of the I-600 with you in case something is not correct.
Chloe and I decided to try our hand at some shopping at Hang Gai Street (also known as Hemp Street) with the two kids in tow. With the high humidity and temperature and toddler and baby, we only were able to shop for about one hour. My purchases included five conical hats for my family. We were also stalked by locals trying to sell us their crafts. To our dismay, polite no thank yous did not suffice. We had to resort to ignoring them and using curt body language. Chloe is camera shy. In this case, I can't say I blame her.
